700 students taking part in the Cleveland Marathon
The Cleveland Metropolitan School District will be well represented in this year's Cleveland Marathon. More than 700 kids will be running some or all of the Marathon as part of the Cleveland YMCA's "We Run This City" youth fitness challenge. Read more from the CMSD website...
HBO documentary, "Weight of the Nation" premieres locally with panel discussion
In an effort to confront America's rising obesity epidemic, HBO films (in conjunction with Kaiser Permanente) has produced a four-part documentary series called "Weight of the Nation." Cleveland is mentioned in the film as an example of part of the obesity epidemic.
A local screening of this film will be on May 3 @ 3:30 pm at the Great Lakes Science Center, 1001 Lakeside Avenue, Cleveland, with a panel discussion featuring CDPH Director Karen Butler, U.S. Rep.
